Cookies
We only use cookies and browser storage that Inviteroo needs to work and to stop it being misused. The one thing we ask about is whether a gift idea’s link may go through Awin, which sets tracking cookies of its own.
On this website
None. This site sets no cookies and loads nothing from anyone else. If you start a venue enquiry, your browser keeps what you’ve typed until you close the tab, so it isn’t lost if you go back. The site tells our own server which kind of page you opened, and when you tap Make your invite, so we can count visits; that needs no cookie and says nothing about who you are. Our privacy policy has the details.
In the app
- Sign-in: keeps hosts and venue staff signed in. It lasts 30 days from when you last used the app.
- Draft: lets you keep editing an invite before you’ve saved it. It lasts 7 days, or 30 days when your venue’s booking link started the invite, counted again each time you open that link.
- Your replies: lets a guest’s browser remember their reply so they can change it. It works only on that invite and lasts 120 days.
- Free song: an anti-abuse cookie, set in your browser when a free song is made there, so free songs can’t be collected with one new account after another. A browser can have two free songs, and fewer a day on one internet connection once it has had one. It lasts 30 days from the latest free song and holds only how many were made there, nothing about who you are.
- Shop cookies: remembers whether you said yes or no to Awin’s cookies when you tapped a gift idea, so we don’t ask every time. It’s read only when you tap a gift idea, holds nothing but your answer, and lasts 180 days.
The app also keeps some things in your browser’s own storage, never sent to anyone: the invites you’ve started but not saved (up to three, with the name each is for), work in progress such as a song or design you haven’t finished, which animations you’ve already seen, and, in the venue dashboard, which set-up steps are ticked off. Most of it goes when you close the tab; clearing your browser’s site data removes the rest.
We don’t use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies of our own. Some gift ideas’ links go through Awin, which sets tracking cookies so the shop knows you came from us: we ask first, and only send you through Awin if you say yes. If you say no, you get the shop’s own page instead. Either way, the shop may set its own cookies on its own site. If we ever want to use other cookies we don’t need, we’ll ask first, and the answer will be no until you say yes.
